Is Online Gambling Legal In The U.S. ?

Although U.S. legislation as regards online gambling continues to be very blurred it can be said quite categorically that no federal law exists that prevents U.S. nationals from engaging in online gambling.
Estimates suggest that Americans still account for over 80% of online poker players and that they participate in more than 55% of online gambling activities.
Nevada, Louisiana, Michigan and Illinois currently prohibit online gambling and many other state legislatures say that they intend to introduce similar legislation.
California, Massachusetts, South Dakota and Utah forbid certain forms of online gambling.
